NEW THIS YEAR:
We’ve listened to our members! We are opening kids’ Pickleball camps this summer for the first time. Elmridge will offer weekly afternoon Pickleball camps designed for all levels of players, from beginner to competitive, ages 6 – 12 beginning June 30, 2025. Camps are led by our experienced coach and camp director, Paul Kirijian, who has instructor 1 certification from Tennis Canada and training in the Responsible Coaching Movement of the Ontario Tennis Association.
*Camps are offered in weekly sessions (you can sign up for as many weeks as you want!)
Hours: 1:00 PM to 5 PM from Monday to Friday.
Cost/weekly session:
Elmridge Family or Youth member: $150 ($120 for 4-day weeks)
Non-member: $200 ($160 for 4-day weeks)
The 2025 dates for Summer Camps are:
- June 30-July 4th (4-day camp)
- July 7th-11th
- July 15th-19th
- July 21st-25th
- July 28th-Aug 1st
Just like in our tennis camps, our new Pickleball camps will be structured for the abilities of young ones. We will use court and equipment sizes appropriate to the size and skill levels of the players. We will also stress the importance of sportsmanship and court etiquette.
We supply racquets, balls and other equipment. As well as our pickleball coach and camp leader, each camp will have at least one trained camp counsellor (depending on the enrollment). During Camp, young recruits will engage in various safe, fun and recreational Pickelball-related activities.
On Fridays, we hold a fun tournament where everyone can use the skills they acquired during the week. After the tournament, there is an awards presentation just like in regular Pickleball play
* Elmridge takes the safety of your children seriously. We won’t go out on the courts if the Camp Director thinks it is unsafe to do so (for example, when it is extremely hot or when the courts are too slippery due to rain). In these cases, the camp director will lead the campers in other activities, like card games or crafts, in our air-conditioned clubhouse or a sheltered spot.
If, after reviewing the weather forecast for the next day, the Camp Director believes that there is no chance of playing outside sports, Elmridge reserves the right to cancel the next day. In this event, we will e-mail parents by 6 pm the evening before and issue a refund for the missed day.
